Kyle Jones Steals the Show in Thrilling Finale at the 8th Annual Belleville High Banks Nationals
Saturday night at the Belleville High Banks delivered one for the record books. The 8th Annual Belleville 305 Sprint Car Nationals, with $13,000 on the line, brought fans to their feet with a heart-pounding 30-lap main event that had it all—speed, drama, and an unforgettable finish.
After early domination from Lee Goos Jr., it was Kyle Jones who emerged as the star of the night. Starting from 10th, Jones patiently worked his way through the field and made a bold move on the cushion mid-race to pass both Goos and a charging Joey Danley. It was a high-risk, high-reward maneuver—and it paid off.
Goos had led much of the race with confidence, showing serious speed up front. But once Jones found his rhythm, he was untouchable, combining raw momentum with flawless execution.
Danley, however, wasn’t going down without a fight. In the closing laps, he traded lines with Jones in heavy lapped traffic, keeping the pressure on. The race built to a dramatic climax as the two went wheel-to-wheel off turn four in a photo finish that had the crowd erupting as the checkered flag waved.
Top 3 Finishers:
-
1st – Kyle Jones: Charged from 10th and executed a late-race pass to seal the win.
-
2nd – Joey Danley: Fast all night and pushed hard to the very last lap.
